Winter Wonder
The LORD will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forevermore.
Psalm 121:5-8 ESV
I love winter. The chill in the air, a good book, a cozy fire, and the discipline of just being still. Here in the midlands of South Carolina, winter usually enters quietly as the new year opens its door.
Winter marks the end of what was and ushers us into what God has in store. The solace of the season can be a time of reflection, renewal, and the reigniting of His fire in our souls, if we’re willing. Winter wonder.
For our family, 2025 brought joy and disappointments, laughter and heartache, tears and more tears. Life is like that. We can experience excruciating grief one day and exhilarating joy the next, and all of it weighs, not just on our hearts but on the heart of God. He doesn’t just care about us; He cares for us. He hugs us in our times of heartache and dances with us in times of celebration.
For those who trust in the Lord, the focus verse is God’s promise. He will keep our going out as we leave behind what was, and He will keep our coming in as we walk into a new chapter.
Hold onto Him with hope and expectation. May Christ fill us with confidence and courage as He escorts us into a winter of wonder. Seek His face, rest in His love, and embrace His peace as He faithfully makes all things new.
With Joy,
